For those curious, the character in my PFP is Amber from Dumbing of Age.
In the author's commentary for the first book, David Willis worries that being a nerd doesn't justify the somewhat dated reference that she and Danny make in the last panel.
The good news is that in the Year of our Lord 2023, I am she; so it wasn't at all anachronistic.
